Preserve real land, one square at a time

Subak Tegal Sari, Bali, a rice terrace held in trust, farmed by the families who have always worked it. Keep a square of it, digitally, for as little as $25, and it stays real: real land, real farmers, real fee that pays for its own upkeep.

Why a ledger, not a listing

You do not own the land, nobody outside the local trust does, and that is on purpose. What you keep is a real, permanent record: your name against a real square, for as long as you keep the small annual fee current, same as a domain name. The fee covers the land's real upkeep and pays the farmers who tend it a living wage.

Nothing here is a metaphor. The terrace is a real place. If you claim a square, a real family keeps farming that ground, and your name sits in a register that never gets edited or erased, only added to.
